Dr. Shie-Yuan Wang received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Harvard University in 1999. He joined the Department of Computer Science, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) as an Assistant Professor in 2000, and was promoted to the Associated Professor in 2003. He was promoted to the Full Professor in 2009 and since then has been a Full professor in the Computer Science Department. Dr. Wang acted as the Director of the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) undergraduate honors program of NYCU from 2009 to 2011, the Director of Institute of Computer Science and Information Engineering of NYCU from 2013 to 2014, the Director of Institute of Network Engineering of NYCU from 2014 to 2016. Since 2021, he have also been a Joint Appointment Professor of Institute of Artificial Intelligence Innovations of NYCU. Starting from November 1, 2024, Dr. Wang has also been the Executive Director of Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT)Themati Center and Research Fellow of the Research Center for Information Technology Innovations (CITI), Academia Sinica.
Dr. Shie-Yuan Wang received "Outstanding Information Technology Elite Award, Taiwan, R.O.C., 2012", "Outstanding Information Technology Application and Product Award, Taiwan, R.O.C., 2012", "Tokyo University of Science President Award, Japan (2014)", "19th Y. Z. Hsu Scientific Paper Award from Y.Z. Hsu Foundation, Taiwan, 2021", "Outstanding Alumnus Award, Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Taiwan Normal University, 2023", and "STI A* Award, Institute for Information Technology (III), 2024". Since 2021, Dr. Shie-Yuan Wang has been elected as "Top 2% Scientist in the World (Career Impact)" each year by Stanford University based on the Scopus paper publication database. |
