Dr. Meng Chang Chen received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from National Chiao-Tung University, Taiwan, and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.

        Prior to joining Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica, Dr. Chen was with AT&T Bell Labs as Member of Technical Staff and led several projects in the area of data quality of distributed databases for mission critical systems. Later, he became an Associate Professor at Department of Information Management, National Sun Yat-Sen University, Taiwan. He serves as Deputy Director from August 1999 to July 2002 and from September 2008 till now, and is now Research Fellow .

        His current research interests include deep learning for complicated applications (such PM2.5 prediction), and computer and network security.
