Chiu-Han Hsiao has been deeply engaged in interdisciplinary projects at Academia Sinica, applying information and communication technologies (ICTs) across diverse research domains. His work spans three core areas: (1) artificial intelligence (AI), (2) network slicing management and optimization, and (3) emerging technologies and applications.
Collaborative efforts with institutions such as National Taiwan University Hospital, Taipei and Taichung Veterans General Hospitals, National Taiwan University, and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University have advanced projects in AI and biomedical applications. These initiatives leverage federated learning (FL), machine learning (ML), deep learning (DL), reinforcement learning (RL), and biological science techniques to transform complex data into actionable insights. In the area of network slicing, his research integrates software-defined networking (SDN) and mathematical programming techniques to enhance resource management and operational efficiency. This broad experience underscores a sustained interest in connecting real-world challenges with system design, analytical strategies, and applied technological solutions. |
