 Dr. Chou, Po-Heng (Bone) was born in Tainan, Taiwan. He received the B.S. degree in electronic engineering from National Formosa University, Yunlin, Taiwan, in 2009, the M.S. degree in communications engineering from National Sun Yat-sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, in 2011, and the Ph.D. degree from the Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering (GICE) of National Taiwan University (NTU), Taipei, Taiwan, in 2020. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow hosted by Prof. Yu Tsao (IEEE Senior Member) at the Research Center for Information Technology Innovation (CITI), Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan, from Sept. 2020 to Sept. 2024. He was invited to visit Virginia Tech (VT) Research Center, Arlington, VA, USA as a Postdoctoral Visiting Fellow hosted by Prof. Walid Saad (IEEE Fellow) from Aug. 2023 to Feb. 2024. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow hosted by Prof. Li-Chun Wang (IEEE Fellow) at the Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), Hsinchu, Taiwan, from Oct. to Dec. 2024. Dr. Chou has received the Partnership Program for the Connection to the Top Labs in the World (Dragon Gate Program) from the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) of Taiwan under the supervision of Prof. Walid Saad and Prof. Yu Tsao to perform advanced research at VT Institute for Advanced Computing, Alexandria, VA, USA, from Jan. 2025 to present. His research interests include AI for Communications, Deep Learning, Signal Processing, Wireless Networks, and Wireless Communications, etc.
Dr. Chou received the Excellent Engineering Students Award from the Chinese Institute of Engineers and was the First Runner-up in the Taiwan Electronics Design Innovation Contest in 2009. He served as a Teaching Assistant at the College of Electrical Engineering, NTU during 2012-2013 (Digital Communications, Digital Signal Processing) and 2014-2015 (Stochastic Processes and Applications, Probability and Statistics). He was elected Chairman of the Student Association of GICE, NTU during 2014-2015. He received the Altruistic Award from NTU in 2015. He was awarded the Outstanding University Youth Award and Phi Tau Phi Honorary Membership by NTU in 2019 to honor his impressive academic achievement. He received the Ph.D. Scholarships from the Chung Hwa Rotary Educational Foundation during 2019-2020. He has been elected as the Distinguished Regular Postdoctoral Scholar of CITI by Academia Sinica from Jan. 2022 to Dec. 2023. He received the Dragon Gate Program from the NSTC of Taiwan during 2025-2027. |
